About Puget Sound Cruising
PugetSoundCruising.com is a comprehensive destination guide and trip-planning resource for recreational boaters in the Pacific Northwest — from Olympia to the San Juan Islands, and everywhere in between.
Our Mission
We built this site to be the single, trusted resource boaters open every morning during cruising season. The Pacific Northwest has world-class cruising grounds, but the information is scattered across dozens of marina websites, yacht club newsletters, port authority press releases, park agency pages, and social media feeds.
We aggregate, verify, and freshen this information daily so you can focus on the water.
What We Cover
- 50+ marinas, guest moorage, and anchorages from Olympia to Bellingham
- Washington State Marine Parks with rules, permits, and current conditions
- Events: regattas, rendezvous, boat shows, safety courses, festivals

- Interactive nautical maps with OpenSeaMap overlays
- Intelligent trip planner with channel routing and GPX export
- Real-time NOAA weather and tide data
Our Approach
Free and comprehensive:Every destination, park, and event listing is free. No paywalls, no gated information. Boaters shouldn't have to pay for basic facts about where to go.
Open source stack: The site is built on open source software at every layer. We prefer transparent, community-maintained tools over proprietary black boxes.
Privacy-first: No ad tracking, no user profiling, no data sales. We use privacy-focused analytics and the minimum data needed to run the site.
Safety disclaimers always:We're a planning resource, not a navigation authority. Always consult official NOAA charts and weather before getting underway.
Data Sources
We source information from NOAA, Washington State Parks, WDFW, DNR, Recreation.gov, port authorities, yacht clubs, and local boating publications. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr Creative Commons, government photos (public domain), and marina websites with permission.
