Small-craft basin at the tip of Point Defiance Park, tucked behind a manmade peninsula just inside the west entrance to Commencement Bay. Boat launch, fuel, and immediate access to the park's 760 acres of old-growth trails, the zoo, and the Tahlequah ferry.

Navigation Notes

Hazards: Point Defiance is a prominent 160-foot dirt bluff at the mouth of Commencement Bay; the Point Defiance/Tahlequah ferry terminal is 1.8 miles south-southeast of the point — watch for ferry traffic on approach.
Current & Tide: The current in Dalco Passage and along the southwest shore of Commencement Bay sets west or northwest almost continuously. The Narrows, immediately south, exceeds 5 knots at times.
